Pioneering solutions for hydrogen and fuel cell technology
The Busch Group will present innovative vacuum and overpressure solutions from their brands Busch Vacuum Solutions and Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions for the hydrogen and fuel cell market from March 31 to April 4 at Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE – part of the world“s most important industrial trade fair in Hanover, Germany.
Busch Vacuum Solutions: Versatile blowers and vacuum pumps
Busch will present the MINK MH series recirculation blowers at Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE: the MINK MH 0018 and MINK MH 0040. The blowers are ideal for all applications in which fuel cell systems are used today and where they will be used in the future (stationary, heavy-duty, marine, rail, aviation). Their compact dimensions make them suitable for direct integration into fuel cell systems. In larger systems, multiple blowers can be operated in parallel.
The MINK MH blowers from Busch have been specially designed for the recirculation of excess hydrogen in fuel cells. They use the claw compression principle to recirculate hydrogen in a dry and contact-free process. The intelligent variable speed drive makes it possible to adapt the volume flow precisely to the fuel cell’s H2 requirements, resulting in a high efficiency factor.
Another innovation is the R5 RA 0040 F oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump, which has been specially developed for filling or emptying hydrogen tanks. This vacuum pump is ATEX certified (gas class IIC) and has been specially designed for conveying hydrogen. In addition, this vacuum pump demonstrates impressive reliability and efficiency and is specially tailored to the requirements of the industry. It offers high performance at low total cost-of-ownership.
Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions: Mobile leak test module for flexible leak tests
At this year“s Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE event, Pfeiffer is presenting a mobile leak test module as a modular solution for leak tests. This module enables versatile tests with the tracer gases helium and hydrogen, or forming gas, thanks to the individual configuration of Pfeiffer components such as the vacuum chamber, backing pumps and turbo pump. The possibility of automation makes it particularly suitable for efficient and reliable leak testing – from pre-development to small-series production. Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions offers a special leak test module for leak testing of monopolar or bipolar plates, which can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines. The innovative design and new process enable short cycle times, thus supporting efficient manufacturing.
State-of-the-art mass spectrometer for gas and residual gas analysis
Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions is also presenting the compact, portable OmniStar GSD 350 mass spectrometer. This benchtop instrument provides fast, reliable and precise measurements of non-condensable gases at atmospheric pressure. PV MassSpec mass spectrometer software supports qualitative and quantitative analysis, covering mass ranges from 1 to 300 u. The OmniStar GSD 350 is ideal for material characterization, including desorption measurements and hydrogen permeation studies through tank or gasket materials.
Technical presentations and live demonstrations
A special highlight of the trade show is the technical presentations, which offer exciting insights into current developments in overpressure and leak detection technology. On March 31, Markus Rupp, Market Coordinator at Busch, will first give a presentation on the topic of hydrogen recirculation for PEM fuel cell systems and electrolyzers. Then Jonas Klös, Market Manager Mobility at Pfeiffer Vacuum+Fab Solutions, will discuss the production-integrated leak test for stacks, membranes and bipolar plates. These presentations will provide valuable insights into innovative solutions and their practical applications.
Trade fair visitors can attend Hydrogen + Fuel Cells EUROPE 2025 from March 31 to April 4, 2025 at Booth C14 in Hall 13 to speak with experts from the Busch Group and learn more about the future-oriented solutions and technologies.
