Conference Focus on Automotive Ethernet and Network Integration of Applications
MOST Forum 2012 on 20 March 2012 in Stuttgart/Esslingen (Germany)
Starnberg (Germany) 6th December 2011 – The fourth MOST Forum on March 20, 2012 in Stuttgart/Esslingen (Germany) will celebrate a significant milestone of MOST Technology: with MOST150, the third MOST generation will go into series in 2012. Thus, for the first time, the MOST Ethernet channel will be used in practice to transmit IP data within the vehicle. MOST150 provides an automotive-ready physical layer for Ethernet protocols in addition to transporting high Quality of Service (QoS) audio and video within the car. „The upcoming MOST Forum promises exciting presentations about the latest developments and research results,“ stated Dr. Christian Thiel, Administrator of the MOST Cooperation – the standardization organization for the leading automotive multimedia network Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST). „Several carmakers and suppliers will give insight into automotive IP-based data transmission and present an outlook on future network technology and applications connected over MOST, such as driver assist systems, mobile devices, and Internet access.“
Outlook on MOST Forum Agenda
After opening the conference and welcoming the attendees, Henry Muyshondt, Technical Liaison of the MOST Cooperation, will guide the program, which will begin with the keynote speech. Presentations by Fraunhofer, Sumitomo, University of Applied Sciences Nuremburg, and Yazaki will follow the keynote speech and will introduce solutions and future scenarios for the MOST physical layer. During the lunch and networking break all attendees and speakers are welcome to visit the exhibition area to learn about available MOST solutions and realizations in brand new vehicle models. The afternoon events will begin with a section on MOST Compliance and Quality presented by the Research Center for Information Technology (FZI), Tektronix, and TTTech Automotive. This section will be followed by a deeper look into MOST applications by K2L, MOST Cooperation, University Kaiserslautern, and X2E. Following the afternoon discussion and exhibition break, Daimler, Harman, and SMSC will round up this promising conference program with presentations on aspects of network and systems architecture such as digital content protection and IP-architecture as well as an outlook into the MOST future.
